clip on tie vocal mic/used internal on acoustic

any one ever tried to use a clip on vocal condenser mic inside an acoustic along with their saddle pickup. you know the one all the public speakers etc use them their voice is always clear and life like ,maybe it could do the same on acoustic guitar

I'll have to go thru my old Recording magazines but I recall an article where an engineer put a lavalier mic in James Taylor's guitar cause he moved around so much. It was supposed to be a scratch track but it sounded so good they kept the track. I think it was a Sony. I'll reserch and let you know.
