Everytime I record a mic'd or direct signal with the click track turned on I get a bleed from the click in my signal. I have tried recording in complete silence ( no speakers to monitor with/ no headphone) and the problem still arises. I did try using the pc speaker as a click and I didn't get that sound in the mix but the pc speaker isn't very useful for the drummer and the singer. Is this a common problem or is it just me?

Thanks for any suggestions.

What recoding source do you have chosen in your sound card's mixer (or the Windows mixer)?

It sounds like you are using "what u hear" as the recording source. In that case, any sound that passes through the sound card will be recorded (including the click track). Try changing the setting to "line in" (or whatever input port you are recording from). This is a pretty common problem with SB cards.

I'm recording two-tracks at a time through a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card. my setup is this"

Dell P4 /w santa cruz card ( 2 in 2 out ) -> tascam 424mkIII 4track ( as a preamp for the microphones ) -> two sm57 microphones -> line 6 spider 210 amp.

The amp and microphones aren't in the same room as the computer and monitors. I've tried turning off my speakers so that the click would be heard and I've tried turning the microphones off and recording a bass direct in and as long as I'm using the midi clicks they get added into the signal whether they leave the speakers or not. I've used the pc speaker for clicks and it elminated the problem but I can't send pc speaker through the headphones.

As far as recording source, I am using the Line In on the windows mixer.
