Is there a correlation between the new management time frame and the influx of new folk seeking feedback/turnoverontheirchartaccounts?
I know there was a slow changing of the guard in evidence over the last 12 months but it seems now to be a faster turnover than that would suggest.
Has this forum been tagged somewhere as the place to go to seek advice, feedback & play clicks before disappearing again.
Then again it could be me. I am aging and have less memory than my 1st thumb drive (8meg) so almost everyone seems new each time I look in.
I need people with some knowledge of me & my music so that I don't get shot down in flames over the same immovable mountains time and again.
Crikey, I'm a bloody sook aren't I?
(Slaps self across jowls, plashes face with hot tea and undertakes restringing of mandolin as penance for whining)

You may be right. But I've been here long enough to know whos tunes I want to hear - I'll never pass up a Greg L mix, for example!

This is rare, but I totally get what you're saying! :D

There are a lot of people just popping in posting some shit and vanishing forever.

There is a very small group of people that I want to listen to. Most of these new guys don't listen to anything they are told anyhow. There are some who seem to be sincere and will actually fix the mix according to what they are told, but most never update the damn mix. You may well be right.

What can people possibly get from click counts? Do they think a record deal will fall into their laps because of alleged "plays"?

I'm not sure! I've listened to some of the stuff on soundclick that was in the number one spot. Pure shit most of it. Poorly written songs that were poorly played and not tracked or mixed well at all. Yeah, I'm going to give a record deal to those assclowns.

I couldn't get onto HR yesterday - for several hours it was "server busy" then data base error.
The server busy thing has happened quite a few times of late - feels like a squeeze.

Yeah, it's been slow. Might be ISP change or the new server load might be slowly accommodated.

I've learnt a lot of stuff so I'll always be back here. I mean I listen to my earlier mixes and thank God that I found homerecording.com and people who said my mixes were crap but also said what might fix them. They've been slowly getting better.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't miss a Greg_L tune either..... well not intentionally.

Don't worry Ray - you, Ido and few others also fall in that bucket with Greg.

Bet its that Rick Gross guy-it's horrible shit and sounds like a clusterfuck!
I think he has a Church and has them convinced that if they give his crappy, awful tunes high marks they get into Heaven....

I reckon I've been whining lately too Ray, I just finish restringing my #1 mandolin and getting ready to do my #2 as well!!

I think Ray has a point....
Even if I haven't been here that long, I still believe we've managed to build a nice tight-knit community here where we share our music and learn from each other. We also handle each other with respect and criticise constructively. It's not that I would like to see an exclusive club here, for me any newb is welcome as long as he's on the same wavelength. But the phenomenon Ray mentioned is evident lately. Personally I don't care how many clicks I get, as long as the people I regard as my friends comment on my songs.

So, end of my rant......:D

Personally, I am a bit disappointed as I expected this thread to be a new rayc track gettin' all topical about about the effects of the internet on the modern psyche. Oh well...what was the question? Ah yes...no ray, you are not a bloody sook. At least, I don't think so (psst...what does that mean ?)

Ray's right.

I also tend to see more people post a tune here without listening to anyone else's. And then some of them have the fucking gall to bump their own threads, whining about getting no response, even though the only posts they ever made were in their own threads.

I'm not only talking about newbies. There are a few people that only drop in here every couple of months to post their latest "creation", while NEVER listening/commenting on anyone else's. I see their names and stay out of their threads.

But the worst are the people that don't comment on tunes, but then have the audacity to send me a PM asking me to come to the Clinic and listen to their last tune!!!!

I haven't been here nearly as long as some, but I've noticed folks popping in with songs and disappearing fairly consistently the whole time I've been here.
