Any tips ext things of that nature ( settings) That would allow me to make the vocals in cool edit sound more unique/distinguished?

Any input would be helpful, thanks.

You need to be more specific as to what you're trying to achieve...

I know how to get the demonic voices, chipmunk voices, those kinds of effects. But I have no idea what you're asking, so...

Not sure if it's what you're talking about, but the first thing I always do is go through and reduce the volume levels on the breaths. (Sadly, I can now do this visually because I know what my inhaling "looks like," which is different from other vovalists that I've worked with. . .). It's best to do that before any effects, so that you don't mess with the dynamics of the effects.

Hrm... other than your standard compression/EQ/reverb I would suggest recording a great singer thru a great preamp with a great microphone in a great room.

Agree w/ cloneboy....

Mic technique might be killing you....pronunciation, proper breathing, backing off and getting close to the mic...

What type of mic are you using? style of music?

Cloneboy is right: the only killer recordings start with killer performances. All we ever learn is how to keep from losing the original energy: it can never be added on after the fact.
