Cleaning up noisy pots Tascam 424 MkII

Hello everyone,
Just picked up a Tascam 424 MkII in pretty good condition. The only issue seems to be the pan pots as noisy and crackle when turned.
Any thoughts on best strategy for cleaning this up?

Try to first work them repeatedly and see if the crackle goes away. The manual turning of the pots should displace some of the oxidation. Make sure to work each pot for at least 10 seconds, in rapid fashion. Did that help?
