Cleaning bad XLR connections... Help needed...

So I had a few XLRs, that overtime the connections came undone, or I had to resolder the ends on different cables ect... Anyway, they now all make noise when they are plugged in. Im almost 100% sure that they do that because the XLR connections have been soldered so many times that the connections are just too dirty to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can clean the contacts so that they will work and not make noise? THANKS!

I have solved that problem by clipping off the cable six inches from the end and resoldering it - you may need to find something to clean off the existing solder from the jacks first...

Go to Radio Shack and get some solder wick. It is a copper braid which sucks up solder when it melts. Press the wick on the connector with your iron,
and away goes the solder. Also get a solder bulb, a little rubber suction dealie that vacuums up molten solder. Very handy as well, for connectors. Use the bulb to get the bulk of the solder, and the wick to finish. Also good for sucking out the holes in PCB boards.

Cleaning the connectors and using fresh wire like sscientist said should help a lot.
