Circuit breaker box sound proofing

Hi all,

I'm converting a small (8'x12') shed for a music room. Recording and mixing. I've read a lot of great info on this forum and thanks to all for that. My question is, is there anything I can do with the circuit breaker box shown in the picture to help with sound proofing. I'm doing my best to build a room within a room with resilient channel and other things, but I haven't read any ideas about how to deal with that. The box fills the cavity between the studs completely. I think in retrospect I should have just ran a wire to the shed and not put the box in. But too late now.

Thanks

A box with soundproofing hanging over the front is applicable. Or nothing. It isnt going to change the sound in that small of an area as much as something much larger. You do not want to create something you cannot access the breakers easily from...you do not want something that keeps heat in easily....It is an electricians nightmare to have to service something that has no access.....also very illegal.

Thanks Cavedog. The electrician warned me about covering up the box. I figured whatever I do would have to be removeable and taken down when I wasn't there. Velcro I guess.

I mean, typically an electrician would remove the breaker box and pull it forward to flush mount on the new interior wall. You can't cover up the box...as stated in the last post, it's dangerous and illegal.

Good idea Weasel. I'll get the electrician to bring the box forward. Thanks!
