When I was still i my cover band 5-6 yrs ago, we did a 3 song cover cd to pass out to places to get gigs. here was one of the songs we recordeed. It was done in a friends studio (not sure the equipment he used). As I listen to it today, one thing I notice is, the drums (kick) is loud in the mix...wasnt even mixed just a raw version...

any other feedback?

One - By Creed

Kick might be loud, but to me, it's not bad. It sort of drives the song. The worst complaint I have is the 128k makes the cymbals washy... :D

I think it sounds pretty good. I like the cleaner sound of the vocals, as compared to the original. The guitars sound pretty good also.

I think you should be happy with the sound. Sounds good to me.

hehe thanks dog, I appreciate your comments. I hope when I get my stuff down that I can produce better quality recordings than this ;) I have learned a lot in here that I would like to apply hehe....

Ha, I'm not a fan of creed, but this is the one song by them that I really like.
I agree about the kick, can be distracting, but somehow cool at the same time.
I think the clean rhythms need more presence. Like a thicker sound with more ring or so on to fill up the song more.
The chorus/ electric power chords sound great to me.
Cool version man

hehe thx Snake. This really isnt about the instruments. This song was raw and very unmixed. I was just giving u some more flavor on my vox. :)

thanks for the reply snake ~~

Sure man. Haha, if I gave you advice about the vox, they'd get worse :D :)

please do tell, I can take constructive criticism...in fact I prefer it :)

Hehe, I was actually just mocking myself there :) and my complete lack of singing knowledge. I try it all the time though, good fun :D
Your vox rock!

Kick is a tad loud. And Bass is a tad loud, too.

But you should hear some of my pieces when I'm trying to make the drum machines sound heavy metal, it's just all kick sometimes. :)

The song sounds really cool. Sounds like something I've heard before from Creed, but can't be too sure.

My opinion is based on my taste not my knowledge.

Vox and guitar are really cool. :)

Hey cincy_kid,

Believe it or not this is the first time I have listened to a cover tune of Creed!
I personally love their "My Own Prison" CD and apart from the drums being a little up front, the guitars needing more tracking to fatten them up and your vocals being a tad too dry I think you and your band did a good job of capturing that tune!

Kool cincy!

Gorty :)

What the SnakeDude meant was that if you took his advice on vocals you would be worse off! :D

hehe, hey thanks gorty!

The clean guitars are too thin, that's my only complaint. Double tracking them would be the best way to fix that, or using a better, warmer tone. It sounds too brittle I think. The distorted guitars sound excellent, and I think pretty much everything else sounds perfect. If I heard this live I'd rock out, especially drinking at some bar where you'd be playing. Good Rock vocals too!

yea, I agree about the clean guitars. This was recorded in a friends studio where we just came in and laid down the tracks and he recorded everything and it didnt even make it to final mix down before he shut down his studio and gave us a dat tape hehe.

Thanks for the compliment and yes we had people rock out in the bars when this song came on ;)
