Excellent,

did I hear an overdriven violin? or was that guitar?
What do you use for symphony instrument sounds? they were very convincing, (I'll be embarrassed if you say a symphony:D:D)

nice. i really like that tune Davidk :) well done.

...and enjoy we did! The playing was fantastic as always and the arrangement was too.

I liked the stereo image of the various instruments. It was like an orchestra setup on stage. The backup strings were slightly left and the cellos slightly right. Main strings in the center, drums center rear and so on.

The bells are clear but not harsh, just the right volume, almost a compressed smoothness to them.

Drums sound great, tucked nicely into the background. They sure have a great tone, and the rolls and crashes are well placed.

Guitar was great, harmonies were very nicely done. His playing continues to impress. I could always enjoy more, being a guitar player, but I think your arrangement is fine in that regard.

The part around 4:00-end is my favorite section. There's real cool bit of emotion building there.

Excellent arrangement on the strings, actually everything is well written.
I like your transitions between sections.

A few questions for us gear heads if you could oblige us:

- It sounds like there are a few low synth parts in the very beginning. They are quite nice, what keyboard/patches did you use for that?
- I hear some keyboards coming in and out of the mix off to the (left) side also.
- Those are real bells aren't they? There's a percussive sound that doesn't sound sampled (either that or it's a very good one)
- What type of guitar rig is being used?
- What kind of mics were you using on the strings and approximate placement?
- reverb (especially) and compression hints please.

Thanks for sharing and please pass along my compliments to all those who contributed....

:D:):D:)
