Christmas guitar

There's a lot of sentiment here for a Squier Strat. I think that's OK if it's Mexican or better,an old used Japanese Fender. God save me from Chinese guitars. I have not yet played one that didn't suck in some way. I will admit to having a Squier bass that really isn't too bad, so it's possible.
OK, I know this isn't the "free ads" forum, but the thread is here, and I've got the axe this girl will love. My email to G-string disappeared into a cyber black hole, and I had to type it again. He inquired about my Epi SG in a PM, but something in my CP or his URL is preventing me from responding. So- sorry, if this is SPAM, avert your eyes now, while you still can!

Yo G-string! I don't think you got my email- I think I lost a big letter to you- sigh. I'll try to encapsulate- I'm *not* typing all that again. Here's the boiled-down skinny on this guitar-

Confession time- I don't currently have a digital camera. There's one picture on my website-www.bardwire.com. It appears in the studio photos along with my other axes.

The guitar is an Indonesian SG. Black finish, silver hardware. Two pickups, only one volume and tone control (My pinky finger likes that live, like on a tele, no volume pedal). No pickguard. The original open coil pickups weren't really bad, and I can throw them in with the guitar, if you have a use for them. The new pups are classic 57 humbuckers with silver covers, right off of an SG Supreme I tricked out with coil taps. The 57's retail for $100 apiece. The installation was done by a big time guitar guy- $40-50. I bought it new for $179 at the Guitar Center in Natick, Mass., about 5 years ago.

I harassed the salesman, and played 8 or 10 of them, until I found *one* that was pretty good. The neck is straight and stable, and currently has 11's with a wound G. (good for playing The Who). The guitar has been played very little. It's mostly a cheap travel axe, which has been replaced by a Highway One Tele.
Al my guitars are named after characters from "Buffy" and "Angel". This one is "Spike". Go figger- the only case in a big GC that fit it was a coffin case! In any event, it is a good cheap guitar that has not been thrashed or abused.
The intonation is excellent, and I don't care for the tuners. I never got around to replacing them, but down the road, I would.
We prefer check or money order, but will take Paypal if we have to. $200 plus actual shipping. Let me know.

SPAM OFF!!!!!!!!!!- Richie

Agile LP knockoff from rondomusic all the way. I just played one recently and it's very similar to my Epiphone. Probably the only set-neck guitar you can get for $200.
