I'm updating my mixer should i go with the mackie Onyx 1620 or the yamaha MG16/6FX? I thought about Behringer, but i've heard some poor quality stories about them.
any suggestions?

Either one will work jus as long as it has the specifics u need. I owned a Behringer mixer didnt give me as much trouble ass people say but they can have their shitty ways at time.

The Yamaha has quite impressive pres.
But it's made in China.
The Mackie is made in the USA
But it's more expensive.

It's all about who you want to encourage, your neighbour and brother, or some asian sweat shop.

Hey Dud,

Every Onyx says "Made in China" on the back.

Really?
Last time I checked at my local dealer, Mackie products were all made in the USA...damn...
Go with the Yamaha then...pay the least you can for Chineese stuff...

I would take the onyx all day long. The Yamaha is good for a PA mixer but the Onyx has direct outs AND digital IO options, so if your looking to use it for recording, the choice is obvious
