Hello everybody!

*First off...this is my first experience with home recording so I apologize for my inappropriate language or the nonsenses I could say*

So..what I'm looking for is a condenser and a mixer/audio interface/preamp...my budget for both is 250euros...I know...it's not much...but I believe one can get excelent results, though...

I'd like to do some tries and record mainly vocals (bass-baritone) and keyboards/piano...among the microphones I've narrowed my choice down to AT2020 (but I'm tempted with AT2035 'cause the "basses" sound better...but in Europe it doesn't cost less than 160euros..) and Studio Projects B1 (but I guess a friend of mine can sell me his C1).........(I know you're eye-rolling...lol).
I'm open to any model or suggestion! :)

From what I've heard around, Studio Projects in general have a dark, cold, clear and neutral sound (to me) but they have great reviews...I like Audio Technica's sound better.. I found it more "coloured" and crystal...plus I guess it'll suit better my voice...

As for the mixer/ia/preamp..it seems a harder choice...there aren't many reviews around...my eyes are on a "Yamaha Audiogram 3 USB"...

To sum up: mic AT2020 (possibly 2035) or Studio Projects B1 (possibly C1) or other models within my budget+mixer/ia/preamp for XLR connectors, with phantom power...for the jolly figure of about 250euros!

Thank you all for your attention!

Lorenzo

Hello Lorenzo and welcome to the forums.
I would say that your microphone selection that you have suggested would work fine for you and stay within your budget.
As for a mixer you shouldn't need it just get a two channel interface that has preamps that will deliver phantom power and there are many to pick from for example the Tascam US122 MK11 USB 2.0 interface or any that are comparable to it.
Then all you'll need to do is to down load Reaper as your recording software (free full version trial) and away you go.
