hi,

i'm thinking buying either option

1. 1010
2. 1010LT + Yamaha 12 track mixer

it seems that the pricing is quite close.

any ideas of choosing? is 1010 bundled with Reason full version? if yes, then 1010 seems to be a great choice. save money for software.

thanks!

I'm confused. Why is your choice between a sound card and a mixer versus just a sound card?? Particularly considering that the two cards have essentially the same number of inputs/outputs and the 1010LT has some preamps. What do you plan to use for preamps with the 1010?

Seems to me you're asking if you would prefer a Honda with tires or a Lexus without tires.

I found out that 1010 comes with a breakbox and i think buying a mixer for 1010 LT seems doing the same thing as the breakbox?

I'm not sure what're the differences?

Yeah I know what you thought. But you're wrong!! wrong !! WRONG WRONGNNGNOGONGNOON!ON!!!! w r o n g.

ok now that it's clear that you were WRONG! WRONG WONRGGG!"!""!

ok... seriously, the 1010 has a breakout box. The 1010lt doesnt. The 1010lt has 2 preamps, the 1010 doesnt.

So basically, get the 1010 and decent preamps. The breakout box is stylish imo. Anyways, I'm buying the 1010 so you have to do the same.

P.S.: don't listen to me.

No but seriously, if you don't care about the nice breakout box, just go for the 1010lt. I know I care, do you?

THIS POST MAKES NO SENSE, AND I'M LYING RIGHT NOW!

p.p.s: this is what 12 straight hours of super-sport motorcycle does to your brain. I mean, it squashes all your muscles, and your brain suffers all day from the muscle pain. I should be ok in an hour or 2.

ya the best point to keep in mind is that the 101 does not have preamps so that may cost you if you don't have any. i think the 1010 is more stylish and tidier than the 1010lt though.

Thanks for your all information. I know I was totally wrong, and I really know which to buy then. : >

The breakout box simply moves the A/D converters off the PCI card, and outside of the computer. It does not take the place of a mixer.

No title

I think, tahat 1010 is a better choice than 1010 LT, because of better signal to noise ratio. The A-D converters are much better with 1010, so the sound of 1010 is clearer!
