Here's one I put together while in severe pain, not >15 minutes ago. I just hope I live to hear any comments. :)

In Lo-Fi @ 64Kbps (478KB)

or Hi-Fi @ 256 Kbps. (1909 KB)

#17 in the MP3 gallery.

I think the lo-fi version stands up pretty well in terms of total detail. This is related more to the content than the encoder, I think?

Yeah the lo-fi does indeed stand up, very crisply. Interesting stuff as always. Does the kick drum represent an irregular beat/chest pain or am I just extrapolating from the thread title?

It just represents feeling my own heartbeat while in a state of panic..... :)

I only hope it came out as sharp as I felt it!

Hmmmm. When I'm not sitting in front of this computer, I'm a nurse on a cardiac floor. I guess chest pain could sound like that.

I do have a recommendation. When having chest pain, it is recommended to lie down and if the pain doesn't pass, seek medical treatment. I don't know that composing music is the best thing to do while having chest pain. But you're still alive, so maybe it works for you.... :)

Hey Doc, seriously man, maybe you should get your ass to the hospital. Chest pain is not something to fuck with - I am no expert, but I come from a genetic line of cardiac problems, all the men in my family that have succumbed to heart attacks (per their doctors, post mortem) had suffered minor infarctions months and even years prior to the one that killed them. This was shown by scar tissue on the heart.

I am just saying, you maybe should get it checked, unless you just had a heartburn inducing meal today -- or you were messing with strange chemicals that could cause such a thing. Or you ate at Tommy's or you ate a Monte Cristo.

Anyway, get it checked. Besides, I have dibbs on "The first member of this BBS to prematurely take a dirt nap" title. :)

Yeah I know about chest pain - I've had Acute Pericarditis twice - overworking and stress from partying too hard (Not as bad as it sounds) get to the hospital drstawl and get it checked - like the track and the lowfi stood up really well.
cheers
John

Thanks for all your concern. I was convinced at the time and now again, upon reflection that it was the steel-cut oats that I undercooked that morning coming back to haunt me. I didn't want to waste the powerful emotional effect while there was a synth and sequencer there to capture it.
Next time- well cooked oats! Basically I knew I screwed them up while trying to do something else at the same time. I was too lazy to throw it away and try again and they did still look pretty good. Tasted great, too. Oh well.
