My ol lady and I upgraded instruments and gear this year. Pretty exciting stuff. But this guitar she got is amazing looking. I don't think pics do it justice!

It's called a Jackson JS3 concert bass. What do you think?

I think it's hideous.

But if you like it, I'm happy for ya. Congrats!

What's so hideous about it? The paint job? LOL

Well, for one, since you asked, it's a metal-cheese pointy headstock jackson with dumb inlays. And yeah, the paint job/wood grain is gross. I like that it's basically the shape of a P-bass, but it looks too rounded. I hate the modern rounded bass shape. Also it has no pickguard. I like pickguards. And are those active pickups? Gay. Or are they just pickup covers? Even gayer. The whole thing screams "look how fucking metal I am!". Totally gay.

Hey, you asked.

If you like it though, again, I'm thrilled for you. Rock that ugly, cheesy, piece of shit. :)

I dunno...I like it.
The grain of the wood and the paint job. I like the style of it too.
How's it play? I guess that would be the deciding factor.

Oh ok lol. I know what you mean. I feel the same way about fender head stocks and ugly pick guards. It's a pretty standard shape, normally we get wild shaped metal guitars. The guitar is not only super comfortable, but also plays like a dream come true. I think it looks amazing, but looks aren't the only thing to take into consideration. Jackson guitars are so well made that they practically play themselves. One of the easiest to play and best sounding guitars out of the many guitars we have owned over the years. It's pretty fitting as well, seeing how we play metal. These guitars shred.

a good jackson has that dichotomy! wicked neck, and good sound, but the headstock! ahaha a friend of mine has the jezebel with the transparent black flame... plays good and sounds good!

I especially like when they invert the head stock :D

Once of the most balanced guitars you'll ever play as well. My USA soloist reminds me a little of the feel of a good Gibson Les Paul, but thinner neck, better/faster neck action and the Jackson feels way more solid. yet it's lighter and less strain on the back.

My cousin had a concert 5 when we were in high school. Didn't sport the same headstock or finish but I remember it was a really nice bass and played real nice.
