Greetings from Finland!

We just made our second demo and now I would like to have some feedback about the sounds and maybe the songs too. We made everything without any professional help. I have some recording experience and misc recording stuff and we are able to record in some kind of studio of the local youth-house.

So, four topmost songs in

http://www.mikseri.net/dian

..are from our newest demo.
(Airscrewed, Funky Grim Reaper, In Embrace, The Shades of Blue)

UNFORTUNATELY the page is in finnish but you will find the "download" or "hifi" links easily. :)

That's kind of finnish "mp3.com" site.

Thanks.

you familiar with machine men there a metal band from finland and there great

This is pretty hot dude. Sounds great. I don't have any comments.

To tell you the truth, I'd bring the vocal up a bit.

I listened quite a way further down than the top 4 songs. Personally, dude, I think this stuff is world class.

Oh, and here's hoping Kimi finishes on Sunday...
:)

Oh thanks for comments. It's always so nice to have positive feedback. :)

For tubesrawsom:
In this newest demo all of the guitars were made with free vst-plugin Guitarsuite (http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm)
like guitar -> pre-amp -> computer and Guitarsuite.
Of course except those few acoustic guitars.

And that dry snare sound you mentioned is my own mistake. I compressed it too flat already at the recordings so it seemed impossible to get it better than that. So I have to live with it.

And for Cacophonix:
Actually with all the effort put into the levels, we ended up a little paranoid about the vocals. Maybe I shoud try some exciter to the vocal tracks to make them sound more...clear or bright without changing any levels.

And concerning Kimi's battle for the championship, I've lost my hope and pretty much interest too. :)

Holy shit man this sound's wicked!! sounds toatally
proffesional. Good job man. You must have alot of
experience and a shit load of gear I bet lol!

Thanks. I've recorded some demo tapes since 1999 with different setups and bands.

And about gear, in this demo I had a computer with M-audio Delta 1010-lt sound card and the mixing console was Mackie 24/8. Of course microphones, rack and some software were also used.

Where from, I actually own only the computer and the soundcard. :)

wicked man... not exactly the kinda thing I play but I definitely enjoy it!!! Awesome quality!

What programs did you use? The sound is definitely amazing.

I didn't realize the guitars were all plugin sounds. That's crazy. It's pretty damn good.

bleh, no OSX version :(

sounds great man.

Hey, do you remember what settings you used on that VST plug for "Airscrewed?"

Channel: B
Ch B Drive: 10.07
Low 5.59
Mid 7.007
High 7.952
Presence 8.74
Volume 7.401

Something like that. Of course I had a preamp between the guitar and the computer.

Hey man, I cant stop listining to "Airscrewed"! Its freakishly
good man! Awsome.

I love that kick sound on Airscrewed. Very "And Justice for All", thats a hard sound to achieve. Very professional performance, almost flawless. Would you mind posting the gear/mics/etc you used to record this?

Very nice.

Well done man. recording sounds very good...composition is solid... decent playing..Gtr. sounds gr8..ESPECIALLY for a plug in...geez. I hear what you're saying about the snare...small potatoes man...nice work.
peace
