Here is a link to one of my new recordings. The track is one of many I wrote and recorded for an indie film. I did the entire score but this particular track will play at the end during the final credits. Please let me know what you think and feel free to ask any questions. It is a WAV file because I wanted the mix to keep its integrity for critique. (The film is still in post-production stages but simply let me know if you're interested.)

Take care everyone and enjoy!

Perhaps one for the clinic rather than here. Never streamed a .wav before - takes a little patience :)

As a piece of mood music it works nicely, but listening on its own it surely needs to go somewhere? I'm sure the guitar part would benefit from some variation - also the chord change at around 1:13 is not smooth somehow. I presume the rather thin guitar sound was deliberate but I was left feeling something missing in the mids, a feeling exacerbated by the insistent cymbal part. The vocal-ish pad sound was nice. There are some funny squeaks, what were they?

As I say, the MP3 Clinic is the place for informed production comment; there's not much songwriting to get our teeth into in this. Thanks for sharing tho' and best of luck with it.

Mp3

At a little over 18mb, it's a bit much for some people to download, especially if they are on a dial-up. You might want to 1) move this to the mp3 clinic, and 2) convert it to mp3 so that it's smaller and easier for people to download and listen to.

wow i downloaded that in 2 minutes. i feel like speedracer!

I know this has been here for days, but I was finally able to listen to it. I share Garry's opinion of it, it's kind of just sitting there. The cymbols in the left speaker were sort of distracting. They could be panned a bit more toward center and take some of the highs off them. Overall, not bad, but it's hard to listen to acoustic pieces without vocals. It needs some sort of change up to bring it out.

i actually didnt mind the cymbal in the left ear but the hi-hat that went along with the snare sorta drove me a lil insane, just mho.

I liked it...really. Tell me about the acoustic guitar. I like the tone of the instrument.

At 1:00:48 I hear this repetitive clicking...not sure if it's intentional or what...sorta sounds like pick clicks but not...wears on me pretty quickly. It adds to the drive of the rhythm but if you could push it back just a little more it would be a good thing.

I like the dark change in modes too.
