Hey everyone i haven't posted anything here to listen to before so here goes. This is my band Emotional Flatline, we are in the process of recording our full length and these two songs appear on it. Anyway this isn't for nonmetalheads, people into lighter forms of music might not get into it as much. But anywho, i am looking for a rating of quality of sound. 1 being total garbage, and 10 being proffesional quality. Open to any constructive critisism, and comments on the mixing job. It was all done by me in my basement studio...www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2111&alid=-1 Thanks for listening.

That would be a tough one to pull off live...:D Pretty thick sound. Seems overpanned, a little, but maybe that's part of what you're getting at. I'd pull the vocals out in front a bit more, maybe... I'm not a metalhead, but this works, although I'm not sure the added length adds anything new. This does not make me feel warm and fuzzy. I think you get the idea across...

Not bad, I would do something with the voice on the screams, modulation maybe, phasing, it would break the monotony of the vocal sound.

Seemed slightly overcompressed, I would have let a little dynamic range through.

Thats all.............

The drums are a little weak. I realize you may not be able to fix that, but I felt the drums lacked punch. In new-ish metal like this I like the drums to cut through the mix, just a thought.

THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS. YEAH IT'S NOT REALLY MUSIC FOR WARM AND FUZZY FEELINGS. THEY ARE A BIT LONG. I WONDER IF MAYBE THE DRUMS LOSE SOMETHING IN THE UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD PROCESS. I ONLY SAY THIS BECAUSE ALL OF MY FRIENDS SAY I SOMETIMES MAKE THE DRUMS POUND WAY TOO MUCH. AND I HAVE A BAD HABIT OF OVERCOMPRESSING...THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE!!!!

I found you guys on nowhere about a week and a half ago...killer stuff...vox reminds of a rawer Phil Anselmo.I dig it .The thing about the drums(see Agent P185).And less Copmrssn.I really like it.want more...NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me the drums sound bottom heavy! Not in terms of EQ though! More in terms of the bass and toms take over. The cymbals aren't really cutting through very well. Either is the snare. The ride cymbal bell seems to be used as a nice ryhthmic tool, I would put a mic on it and get it in the mix more. The song is creative and played well in general. In terms of "home recording", I would give it an 8.

Is it my imagination or does Analitical man always reply in all caps?

a drug called hate

very cool title btw...
woah!!....HEAVY...FUCK I HATE YOU!!!....I HATE ALL OF YOU!!!...lol..really cool guitar sound..drums sound sufficently in my chest on this one....i love the "groove" factor of most of this style of music ..im just not a fan of the "wailing banshee" style of singing but that aside i really dig the music behind it...all the younger guys at my work listen to this stuff...very "kornesqe"...but thats a compliment the drums loose a touch of tightness in the fast section the double bass parts.

very cool song tho.
