I gotta share the latest that just happened between me and Musicians Friend. I am a daily watcher of the stupid deals,,,and I buy crap all the time from it (as some of you know).
Check this out,,,I was visiting a local Church recently where 2 of my band members/friends were playing at, in their worship team band, and they had a new Yamaha Motif 6 ES which I was pretty impressed by. I decided right then that I was going to own that keyboard.
Anyway, I always hoped they would put a Yahama Motif up at a Stupid Deal price and I know it was only wishful thinking on my part because these things are still selling like crazy,,,why would they??
Anyway, I go to MF site, and check out these boards once again. I was scrolling through the different Motif's and saw they had a "refurb" Motif ES rack for like $970.00 (w/ extended warranty). 2 weeks ago I just bought a Roland Fantom 88 workstation for my keyboard arsenal, so I figured, Hey why not just get the Motof Rack ES? So thats what I did. I bought and paid for it putting it on a new MF's credit card with the special no interested for so many months etc.
It was a done deal, and was to be shipped out on March 19th.
Yesterday I get an email from Musicians Friend stating "they cancelled my order, this unit would not be coming into stock."
Well, that sorta had me a bit mad, so I wrote MF and asked them if there was anything they could do to get me one still, at a discounted price?
A couple hours later, I received this email back from MF Support saying "I spoke to my supervisor, and we will sell you a brand new one for $926.99. (These things list for like $1400.00 and sell for $1099.00). Anyway, the email said to call their 1-800 number or go to their web site to order it. Also they said they made notes on my account so I will get this special price.
I called Musicians Friend to place the order,,,,after all now I was getting a brand new one for less then the refurb was going to be.
The sales guys said,,,"Sir we will have to call you back, there is no way we can sell you one at that price" then he asked "Can you send or forward me that email you say you got?". I said sure!
I sent the email about the discount price,,,,they said they had NO trace of this email, and NO notes were ever made to the account.
10:30 last night I get a call from Musicians Friend. They still had no trace of this offer nor the email sent to me, but said the one I forwarded DID in fact come from Musicians Friend Support, and so they would stand behind the deal. I ordered it and its one its way,,,,,, at a steal of a price.
After this was all over with, I was explaining it all to my wife, and looking at the email (reading the email deal to her) I noticed who the person was who sent the email from Musicians Friend with this special offer. And this part is as true as I sit here,,,,the special deal email I received that there was no trace of, was signed only by the name........Jesus!
Imagine that!! The whole process started out in a Church,,,, and ended by a man named Jesus (who MF had no idea who the employee is)
Pretty crazy huh?? I think I will frame this email and hang it in the Studio!

Cool story! Glad to hear you stuck to your guns and got what you wanted. Sometimes the retail folks can yank you around pretty good if you let them, no matter what store it is or how good they normally are...

I was surprised to see yesterday's guitar sell out. I'll bet the reviews had something to do with it. I just can't trust reviews... Half the time I've got something I really like and it has horrible reviews, the other half it has great reviews and I don't like it... Ok 40/40, the other 20% it's pretty close.
Todays guitar looks pretty full featured for an acoustic under $100. Too bad i already have a budget cutaway acoutic electric...

Well...the new Motif ES from Jesus and Musiciansfriend arrived today. Sweeeet!!
I have it on a stand right above the 88 Key Roland Fantom I got a week or two ago.
I think I need a few days off work, starting tomorrow, to play around with the new toys. Hmm..maybe I need to learn how to play keyboards first!! lol 
The man upstairs came through again!!
