Okay, does anyone make an interface similar to the Maya44 in higher channel numbers? By that I mean, no preamps, no mixer, no effects, no frills, just 16 - 24bit codecs capturing audio and playing back audio from my computer and interfacing it with USB 2.0 or Firewire? I want to select my own preamps, output amplifiers, headphone amps, etc., just have it put the individual channels into my computer and take them back out of my computer over one of these digital interfaces. That way, I can use a decent laptop and it as my portable sound lab. I'll carry all my preamps and stuff too but I don't want the pramps in the I/O device. I don't want to pay for features I won't use.
