Right now I am using some big stereo speakers through and old stereo amp as my monitoring system. Janky yes I know. I set out this month to update my recording system as much as my very limited budget would allow me. I was planning on getting a Delta 44 for 110.00 but then found the Delta 1010lt for 190.00. I coudln't resist. I was then going to get the AT4040 for 250.00 but found the at4050 for 330.00. Once again I couldn't resist. I bought the Behringer UB1204 PRO (I know what everyone thinks, I will upgrade to the 1204VLZ as soon as I can). What I have left is about 200.00 for monitors. Would I be better served to wait on monitors and purchase something else with my 200.00 or could I find a decent setup for that price until I can upgrade in the future. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

my idea

I don't know if this is a bad idea but I thought about getting the YSM1's (the passive version) and using my current amp to power them. I'm thinking that would sound like crap. But maybe I'm wrong.

id start with the Yorkvilles but your next purchase should be a decent amp.....the stereo amp can work decent, depending on how good an amp it is........

Yo Mighty Jimmy:

You won't strike out with the YORKS. I use a Yamaha integrated amp to run my studio extras -- tape decks, CD, speakers, etc.

So, even if you have a stereo amp, the Yorks will work out and they are in the price range.

So, since you "couldn't resist" for the higher priced spreads, grab those Yorks -- you can always upgrade when you find a rich woman.
