cheap, hi quality, portable recording

Nice. I've been looking at some options for this type of thing. I especially like the AD converter box. My MD player makes decent recordings using the optical jack.
 
I wish. We don't have enough time/money to set that up... even with this neat little gadget. Besides, we're really performers - not great at recording... we just try to do the best we can to reach our goal of getting either a recording deal or a fairly big booking agent. We've been doing good managing the band ourselves so far though. :)
 
thats interesting, but www.taperssection.com is made up of people who eat , sleep and breathe portable live recording..and have suggestions for many many more portable setups under 1000....
