cheap headphones with long cord??

i have a studio set up in my basement and have recently started recording other bands to make some extra dough. the one problem is that alot of bands can't seem to play tracks seperately, so i got a 4 channel headphone mixer so everybody could pretty much hear each other. now i just need to get some headphones that are well priced with long cords. i'm not extremely picky about sound quality, just something that can be heard. any ideas?? thanks for replys!

perhaps just get short lead headphones and pick up a female/female adapter (a piggy back adapter with a stereo input in to each end) and plug an extension lead in....i think this makes sense...

That would be my advise. Visit your local radio shack.
you might want to look at som AKG headphones too. The K-301 headphones are good for the price and have about an 8 to 10 foot cord.
 
Maybe try the Panasonic RP-HT335

The cord is between 15-20 feet with volume adjustment at the user. They run about 30 bucks/pair at circuit city. Since they're just used for monitoring while tracking, I don't worry too much about the sound quality. They're certainly better than your average walkman phones. What more do you really need, right?

You might want to try a pair of JVC wireless cans: HA-W250RF.

I have a pair and I can listen to stuff "through walls and outside." These cans are 900 MHz stereo.

I also like to use them for singers -- no wires to get tangled.

This would also let you move without getting your feet tangled up.

They come with rechargeable batteries and charge right on the antenna mount.

Something to look at. They run around 77 pezzutos if you can find them. I got mine at Full Compass after being dangled by Zounds for over two months and then Zounds told me they couldn't get them. Bah on Zounds.


Or, you could just buy a long extension stereo cord as mentioned above.

Do you know if you can use multiple pairs of the JVC wireless at a time? Also in recording situations have you had any problems with interferance or noise?

You would have to check with JVC or a vendor.

As to interference/noise I have had a couple of freq shifts but for the most the cans stay locked on unless there is an outside electrical clash.

But, even so, that static is not being recorded.... only heard.

So far, I've had no problema. I've used my Koss wireless cans to do some vocals for a client and they are "line of sight" reception. Had NO problemas for the session.

Need to make sure the can volume isn't bleeding into the mic which can happen but is not a major problem if the cans are closed cans.
