I am seeking a way to record sounds/vocals using my Mac G4. I have lots of RAM (2GB) with dual 1.25 GB processors. I hope to be able to do some "soundscapes" or looping techniques. I have absolutely no experience and hope to find a simple way to do the above for around $100. Am I dreaming?

If there is no way to do this for the price would any of you be able to suggest a reasonably priced recorder and external mic?

Thanks for any advice,
LugNut

1st -- You need a software/sequencer

N-Tracks
Cubase
Digital Performer
Pro-Tools free (in your case)

2nd -- Audiophile 24/96, if you look hard enough, someone was selling one in here for what --(babing)------$100

You have the right computer, just get those two things and your on your way. MIC's -- STAGEWORKS are around $85 from musiciansfriend.com there are some others but I cant think of them now.

In between the Audiophile 24/96 and the M-Box in price are another couple of units. the M-Audio Duo and the Edirol UA-5. I just got the latter and am looking forward to playing with it.
