Hello. i have a signal shorting? problem on my channel 1 of my 488mkII.
It records fine through channel 1(XLR or 1/4" input, inserts work, effects sends work, etc,)
It also monitors O.K.
However when i want to mix down, the signal does not want to come out at all unless i "boost" it whith the fader or crank up the lows, or mids EQ.
It's kind of like trying to blow bubbles in a mcdonalds milkshake (the way they used to make 'em, nice and thick) with a straw.
You blow hard and no bubbles. then you blow really hard and just when you start to get light headed..BAM...now the air can get through.
obviously, this is pain and strain on my cans.
AND my ears.
Any advice or suggestions would be helpful.
I dont really want to send it to tascam.

and anybody who may have read my short lived thread on the magic FREE 488mkII manual download link through Google.com, I'm terrribly sorry for being a complete IDIOT and not realizing that the download was not for the manual but just the P.O.P. picture/spec sheet. sorry if i wasted anyone's time but my own.
