Changing Tracks using Outboard

I'd like to send some of my already recorded tracks through some outboard gear. So far, the only way I've found to do this is by recording onto a new track, and then deleting the old, uneffected track. This leaves me with, say on an 8 track project, tracks 9-16 with audio, and 1-8 sitting at the top of the screen, doing nothing.

I could just drag the files from the organizer window to the original track number, but that tends to leave me with some sync issues.


Any ideas?

Right click on the file/s you want to move up and select LOCK IN TIME. This will lock the files so they cant be moved left or right but can be moved up and down which is what you want.
