I wasn't sure exactly where this post should be categorized, but this is my best guess. I have a song that I recorded too quickly and wanted to slow it down. My question is simple - Does changing the tempo of a recorded track without altering the pitch hurt the sound quality of the track? I have done this with drums once before in the past and had a hard time noticing anything different (other than the tempo, or course). Now I have more to slow down (acoustic guitar, organ and bass), and I couldn't find any definitive information on this subject. Thanks.

Yes. Lower samplerate=lower quality. It works well on single tracks, but it has never even crossed my mind to do something like that on a whole mix. Record over or stick with it is my advice :)
