Could use some actual user help here. I'm currently using Logic 5.5.1. I'm on a PC and since Apple purchased Logic, this was the last version/upgrade offered. As of the end of the year they will no longer be offering ANY support for PC users (kinda cut their own throat there). Anyway, even though Logic is a great program and will probably do me fine for quite a while, I'm seriously thinking of changing to something more upgradable and company supported. Also, since I'm looking to the future, I may want something to use with video also. First, for audio, I was thinking Cubase SX - seems like a great program for the price. I also contemplated Nuendo for both audio and video, but the price scares me. Seems to have gone up substancially when version 3 came out. Is anyone familiar with Sony Vegas? Any other suggestions? I'm not in a rush, but since this is going to change the way I've been working for years, I didn't want to gamble on something unreliable, quirky or from an unestablished company. Any suggestions are appreciated. I know I can look up lots of info on these programs, but would like to hear firsthand from people that use them. Thanks!

Oh...and , no...I won't switch to a Mac - even though I kinda regret not doing that in the first place.

If you want video get Vegas 5. It is one of the best DAW multitrackers and video editors in one.

Just make sure your interface is compatible with Vegas, I made that mistake and had to switch software.

Thanks for the advice, Jake. I'm using a P4 2.8, 1 gig ram,Multiple HDs with a Hammerfall DSP9632 card. That should be sufficient I would think (it's worked great so far)...but then again, the Sony may need more to work properly. I'll check into it. What problems did you have that you had to change?

I Use Sonar 4. Producer Edition has support for working with Video, and the price tag is around what Cubase is. I've loved it, in fact they are now starting to ship Sonar 5. Lots of new features, might be a good time to get in on it, I know I'll probably upgrade at some point.

You know, today, after much work I got it working with Vegas as well.

I guess it's just one of those things, not sure what fixed it but it's fine now.

Thanks CW...I'll check into Cakewalk. I haven't used that program since the original Cakewalk about 10years ago.
