Running cakewalk 9, and whenever i go to the TOOLS/Change Audio Format, It's always set to 16.

I wanna change it to 24, which It seems to do without errors. But when I go back, it sits at 16.

How do I know for sure that its running at 24?

...first, you have to make sure your soundcard is capable 24 bit. Then, you must restart Cakewalk after you switch from 16 to 24, before it works so...

Yeah... i got an Echo Mia 24/96 card.
Was hoping it would solve a different issue actually.

I have an eq plugin thats not working, actually a few others as well.

Gives me an error, saying It don't support the current audio format, I.E. stereo or mono, or I need a different sampling rate.

What rates do you have?

Some effects don't like to be processed in "Real Time". See if you can add it directly to the clip...

Select the clip, Right click, Audio Effects, pick one that you desire, make an adjusment, audition, save the setting (if needed in case...), click Ok... Effect applied. ;)

But make sure you made a back up for the project (.cwp or .cwb). The process will change the wave data ever after !!! That's why it's called destruct editing... ;)

arg...

Still get the same message.

"will not work with current sample rate or mode (stereo or mono).

I'm curious if my sample rate is to high, or not high enough.

Output sample rate or recording rate?
I got 24/96 recording, and output at 2028 samples.

Whats your's set at?

...It happens often with cheap ass DirX plugins. There's nothing wrong with your sample rate. These FX sucks. I wouldn't even use those. They're cheap... junk. Even when you success applying it, it sounds no good. Even when it's expensive for the bucks... it's cheap...

:D

What's the plugins you are talkin' about ?

Well... actualy, that's not bad. I got the ooold version (dunno exactly, it's 1997). Never use it again in my current setup. But like moskus mentioned, some FXs need stereo wave to work, some requires mono  and some don't fit in certain track FX chains. The best solution is to aplied the FX (make a backup first). It should work. In positive sight, it will reduce also your CPU usage...
