Window XP which I am running will no see the USB ucb202 firewire interface I attempting to place between the back of the computer and my cheap little Behringer (Xyrinx ow whatever) 1002FX mixing board.

I thought I would start calling everything I am using reasonably priced to save the fellows like the other day the trouble of trying to help when the eqpmt. is so cheap.

:D:D:D

Anyhow, straight-up hookup job out the mains out of the mixing board into the proper inputs in the 202 then into a correct USB port in the computer.
I can force the operating system to 'see' the Behringer but there is no sound. More importantly I offered no recording devices when I use proper settings.

I can re-install SoundMAX the integrated sbd and at least listen to the tunes on my computer.

Thanks

I assume the "USB ucb 202 firewire" is to enable firewire connectivity over USB? I'm guessing because have never heard of one, and can't find a quick google result that doesn't include vga connections.

I've read this six times and don't understand this sentence, even less the point it's trying to make.

What do you want the behringer to do? do you want to plug things into it and hear them through your computer speakers?
If so, why not just plug the speakers into the mixer output, and the computer output into the mixer? Then you can control how loud the computer sounds are relative to everything else.

If not, do you want to record something going into the mixer, on the computer?
If that's it, then you need some recording software to record with, and that is what will need to recognize the mixer, not the operating system.
Try out Reaper, there's some info on it at the bottom of this article here. I haven't found any interface it can't recognise, but a firewire to usb converter will be the test of it i suspect.

If you're trying to ask something that's neither of those, then try asking your question more clearly. i.e. "How do I.... ?" or "What's a good way to.... ?" is an easy way to start off and clarify what you mean.
