Hahahaha, in fact, I have googled a number of times. And posted the same question on Gearslutz. And done research outside of this forum.

Unlike most others here, the search button and google are my FIRST options.

Getting cute doesn't become you.

Nor you. And you are touchy this morning.

(note: I accidently deleted a post that was between fraserhutch's two above. In my post I tried to gently chide him for not using all search options when I know him to be quite diligent about doing so...)

So, find me your quoted articles and any other such that I have missed. Please.

don't forget the ever popular cps-1...........

I haven't jumped in on it yet, but it's "on the bench". Arrived today.

I can see it now, what a review!

"the power on light glows with a particularly professional color of red"

"the power supply mains power cord glows like a black mamba, full of power, and ready to strike"

"the finish matches the preamps so exactly, you can feel the subtle mind of a first class industrial designer at work"

"it fits in the rack mount like it was MADE for it, using only STANDARD fastening units, can you belive it?!!"

really, its the power supply review I can't wait for, pant, pant, pant....

...and notice the statement saying "using proven designs and offshore manufacturing (think Chinese) we are able to bring you the quality you deserve at a price you can afford!"

Sounds a lot like Behringer!!

They are doing the Neve clone thing, like dozens of other companies.

I spent some time with the 7602 this weekend. I have used it as a vocal preamp but it's not anything I am allowed to post a clip of yet. The following are tracks recorded a while back, but sent out tonight at line level to use the 7602 EQ.

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2079&alid=1350

I quickly made these tracks tonight, just to find what the EQ is capable of. The settings on the "EQ ON" tracks are:

Acoustic Guitar:
Low Cut Filter: 80Hz
Low EQ: 110Hz @ + 2dB
Mid EQ: 360 @ - 7dB
High EQ: 4.9k @ + 10dB
Line input, 0 gain and 0 output gain

Electric Guitar:
Low Cut Filter: 50Hz
Low EQ: 220 + 7dB
Mid EQ: 360 - 5dB
High EQ: 3.4k @ + 7dB
Line input, 0 gain and 0 output gain

Gain settings are approximate as they aren't marked numerically.

The preamp has tons of gain, and sounded great on vocals with my VX2 tube mic. I need to play more before I go saying it's this or that in character, other than it did sound great and I had no complaints from the singer or band.

I plan on using it as a D.I. some time this week, and more as a preamp later on in the week also. My partner is on vacation and I'm running the place all week by myself...and I've got mixing sessions scheduled most nights this week...and my 3 year old woke up today with a 103 degree fever...but I will spend time as I can with it.

My impressions so far are very good, and the switches feel great and it's a pretty much noise free unit. The box definitely has vibe.

thanks warren! look forward to more info. hope your youngin' is ok? small children can tolerate MUCH higher temps than adults, not that you want them to. a 103 degree temp would send us screaming to the er and probably get us admitted.

She's doing much better this morning, it was just a taxing day yesterday!

Man, I hope your little one is okay too. I know how those high fevers go. As for this preamp goes, it looks like a chinese budget design, from the cosmetics. Its priced quite a bit higher than most. Hope its better than most.

Thanks for the review! And here's hoping your little one is feeling better!

Well, believe it or not the poor thing has been haunted by fevers all week, Tylenol helps but back to the doc she goes tomorrow. Suspect it's a lingering stomach virus, but we already paid them $65 to hear "we don't know what it is, probably just a virus".

I'm heading to bed, but just got done using the D.I. on the Chameleon. If you like I'll start another thread tomorrow giving my overall impression of the unit.

Night!

I think there is a lot more subclinical shit going aroung.
