Hi

I've installed Cool Edit Pro 2.0 on my brand-new Dell laptop (O/S: Windows XP Home), and there appears to be a glitch occuring whereby the playing cursor isn't moving across the waveform as fast as it is meant to. That is to say, by the time the waveform has played right to the end, the cursor is only a little over half-way across the screen!

If you play a waveform on loop then, after a couple of loops, the cursor 'realises' it's not where it's meant to be and 'skips' across the screen until it's animating at the right speed. However, once playback is stopped and started again the same problem returns.

I've tried resizing windows/panels, changing screen resolutions etc, even tried running it in Windows 2000 compatibility mode, but the problem persists in all states. An uninstall/re-install also proved unfruitful.

I wondered if any other users had experienced this glitch with their set-up and found a solution? Obviously the problem is not critical, but is highly detrimental when doing in-depth editing!

If anyone can shed light on this issue I would be most grateful. Thankyou.

I experienced this recently on my machine with Adobe Audition. My problem was simple, there wasn't enough CPU dedicated to the prog. I was running Reason 2.5, FL Studio 4.5, Cubase SX, and Audition at the same time... I closed out the other progs, and it ran fine.

Mind you, I have a Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz processor as well as 1 GB of memory. I haven't had that problem since then, and I've run all said programs simultaneously again. I figure it was just a glitch in the matrix.
