Just wondering if anyone out there is using CEP with a Delta 1010 card. Upgraded to the 1010 about two months ago...some issues remain. After 20 minutes or so in idle mode...system locks up. Then I get a warning sign when saving that my file is being saved in a lousy format. Also get a lot of noise on certain files when they are opened later.

AMD 1.3
735 chipset
768 megs of RAM
VGA w/8megs of RAM
2 HD's (18 gig for O/S & 40 gigs for Audio)

Delta 10 10

For the most part make sure when you play back your wav files the the delta mixer window/ is set to what ever you did your recording at , if you did your recording at 48/24 and your 10 10 is set to 44khz you will have problems. The 1/2 3/4 5/6 ins and outs must be selected also to be able to play back your sound as you drivers. Zad

this, more likely than not, is NOT a sound card/ software conflict.

BUT.. to find out what it is...

this IDLE mode.. what are your APM settings? In windows, look under controlpanel> powermanagement.
also, is there a screen saver? what are its settings? we need to know what is HAPPENING at 20 minutes that crashes your sys.

ok, the filesave thing... youre using CEP? and what EXACTLY is the error message? I know it doesnt say "this is a lousy format." .. so what does it say?

and the noise... what kind of noise? what kind of files.?

oh... and one more thing.

a useless answer to a question is just that... useless. His computer doesnt crash because of a soundcard conflict... and mismaching sample rates wont add noise. that first reply is like saying...

"Your monitor wont turn on?? well.. its always a good idea to turn off the oven when you leave the house.".

I agree.. it IS a good idea.. but has little to nothing to do with his problem.

anyway...nevermind.

ps.. sorry about that.. its late, im stressed...and now im gonna get all this "camn, yourean asshole!" flak.. but I guess I just am.
oh, and im gonna FEEL like an asshole when it turns out that all his problems were because of the wrong samplerate setting, too!:)

Hey,

Thanks for the info...on the power management side...those settings have been "never" for the get-go...I usually record at 96Khz w/a 32-bit (float)...save as such until I mix down to an MP3 file. I've done some things (re-formatted my audio HD, etc.) I have not seen the "saving to a lousy format" box since. However, the system has locked up several times (my system is usually on 6-8 hours a day...its a dedicated DAW) during the recording process...I'm not sure why its doing that now.
