I have finally got everything straightened out with CEP and the Delta. Thanks for your help.

But here is my now problem. When I record with CEP I get this funny little crackling noise. No matter how many times I do it the noise shows up. I have changed every setting for latency and buffers and such I can find but it still is there.

To hear it goto www.digitalvisionsgroup.com/song.htm

Now the kicker is that I recorded with all the same equipment exactly as it was with CEP and used Goldwave. No noise.

This makes me think that it is not the computer but I don't know what it is making the noise. It almost sounds electrical but it does not show up with Goldwave.

If you can listen to it and let me know what you think I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

hmm...thats a tough one.

I agree that is sounds electrical at times...you sure all of the settings like gain etc. were the same with goldwave?

Are you sure the track didn't clip? (a few times the noise sounded like it could have been a clip...but...not that electrical stuff...i really do not know)

Interference from somewhere....did you have the headphone/monitor cables etc. stuff like that all the same way recording both?

Those are tough.

It definately sounded like it was distorting there a few times. There was another sound that almost sounded like the singer bumping the mic stand with a headphone cable or something.

That is not the usual pop and crackle like when there is a problem with the sound card or something. I think its just recorded too hot.

It seems not to to be happening with the loudest segments, so I think it's unlikely to be clipping. It sounds like the kind of sound I get sometimes when my mic cable isn't connected properly to the mic. Check your connections?

Nice singing, BTW.
