My main problem is that my Live Room is only a small 11ftx12ft rectangle.
It's in a finished basement so I have no problem with concrete.

I am deciding on putting up some foam to absorb high frequencies. I will also put bass traps all around the room.
The ceiling is only about 7-8 feet tall. The purpose of the room is usually for drums and the overheads sound like crap. I think it's the room. They sound very harsh. What can I do to the ceiling? Should I put foam on it?

Thanks.

What is the floor? What are the inside walls made of? I'd put some sort of absorbtion on the ceiling but how much and what might be determined somewhat by the rest of the room.

The floor is carpeted.
I'm not sure on the walls because when my parents bought the house, the basement was already finished.

Carpeted floors aren't the best for recording. I've been told that some well placed diffusors on the ceiling will help clean up the cymbals. Is there any treatment at all in the room?

Thanks.

I ordered wedge foams from a site. They should come soon. I ordered bass traps as well.

I'm pretty certain diffusion is not recommended for low ceilings. Total absorbtion is however. Some 3-4" rigid fiberglass panels spaced a few inches off the ceiling will be better. No carpet on the floor.
