what would work better in a simple vocal booth...king size comforters or ceiling tiles?

lowe's has 24x48 tiles for 2.37 each... they claim they're acoustical..

Are you thinking for sound absorption or soundproofing?

For soundproofing, they will be absolutely useless... for sound absorption, they will likely cut *some* upper-mids and high-freqs, but that's about it.

ceiling ;)

sound absorption, i know sound proofing takes mass and if i move from this house we're not gonna build a full studio in it...if we don't move well, i'll have a huge studio soon..my basement is about 2500sq ft...

right now i have king size comforters on the walls and the ceiling.. it sounds good.. music doesn't bleed nor do the headphones.. but to try and make it sound better should i use the ceiling tiles?? i have a good mic (tlm193) so that's not a problem.. i picked up a few bass traps too..
the tiles are much heavier.. about 15pounds each..maybe i'll put a few of them in the booth and see how it sounds..
