so a normal cd audio player (home stereo, car stereo, etc) cannot play a cdrw disc?

that could explain why i can't play my cdrw discs in my homestereo, but then why can i play it in my car cd player? granted it lags by about 5-10 seconds when i put it in, but it plays .cda files just fine.

The re~writables play in my home stereo AND in my truck. Although, I do have to tap on the dashboard a little bit sometimes to get it to play... but it still works for me.

and just for the record, a cda file is a figment of windows' imagination: it's not an actual file with the song in it, it's just how windows shows that there is a audio track on the cd.

Also (and I may be wrong on this, as usual), if a CDRW is made with the proper format, it may be possible to read audio tracks in a normal cd player, you would just have to reformat the cd in order to add anything more and still be able to read it.
