Hi...Can I record tracks "dry" on my Tascam 2488 NEO, say 15-18 tracks...with each drum on it's own track...Then..take the NEO to a professional studio and have them plug into it and mix and master my tracks, and end up with a CD quality sound?(That is, assuming I recorded my tracks with a good sound) Thanks...I'm new to this...

Hmmmm....well, yes, sort of.

The good news is that the Tascam records your tracks in a Wave format at 16 or 24 bit depth and 44.1kHz sampling--and you can export them to a PC via USB. Most studios should be able to handle this though I'd recommend a quick test with you chosen studio to make sure there are no "oopsies" on the transfer.

The bad news: barring super cheap gear using non-standard file types, it's not the digital recording that makes the huge difference between "CD quality" and "amateur quality".

It all starts with the performance, the quality and tuning of the instruments, the recording space, the mics and pre-amps used and the skill with which everything was positioned and the recording done.

Your phrase "assuming I recorded my tracks with a good sound" is the key here. The final results will depend far more on what you've recorded than the hardware you recorded on.
