Ok, so I'm playing my CD-R through my 52x CD-ROM drive which is using my Delta 44 as the soundcard; I'm getting pops and a choppy sound. Whats wrong? The CD-R works fine on my House CD player.

-What do I have to set the Delta 44 control panel to???

I am using XP and Windows media player.

BTW, I just downloaded the SP1 update, rebooted, then I started to play the CD-R.

Check if there are any other devices sharing the Deltas IRQ and disable them or uninstall them. Or move the card to the topmost PCI slot and check the IRQs. If that doesn´t work, read the TweakXP post and try all the mentioned tweaks. A question, were you able to listen to music without pops before installing the SP1? Did the pack screw up your DAW?

If all this fails, go to the search option of the BBS and input pops and clicks and delta and read all the threads about this.....maybe youßll find the answer there

Make sure DMA is enabled for the drive...all drives actually.

What is DMA and I have NOT played music before the SP1 update so I don't if it's that or not.

DMA???

i got dma enabled (under hardware devices...go to ide controllers, check them all that is listed).

also you'll need to set your stuff to "digital encoding" or something like that, under windows media player options.

however, mine still doesnt work. my playback is also choppy as helllllllllllll. others seem to have good luck i suppose. i just say screw it, and i listen to CD's on my cdplayer just hooked up to a reciver of mine by the comp.
