cd inserts size problem

I don't know what other forum to try, so here goes.

I've put together my CD's and am now dealing with inserts, labels, booklets (for the first time).

The standard CD insert size is 4.71" by 4.75". I made my booklets and inserts to fit that. Yet when I'm now trying to use the inserts (haven't tried booklets yet), the front one seems to fit o.k.

However, the insert for the back of the case isn't fitting, despite being dead-on size-wise as front. It's a little too "tall." Since it's not designed smaller, I'd have to go back and re-design.

What gives? Is the backside smaller? If so, why haven't the multitude of sources I've consulted--incl. here--mentioned this? What do I do--what are the correct dimensions? What am I missing?

Thanks.

How snugly does the front insert fit? It could be that both inserts are a little big, but there's more leeway for the front.

discmakers.com has templates you can download that have all the exact dimensions. the tray card template they offer is 5.4" x 4.625", while the instert pages are 4.75" x 4.75".
