nothing! just that it may not be nice to mention about other forums (just minding my manners.. ;) )

BTW I heard your songs on cans last night... great stuff, nice songs... however I do sensed some harshness in them.... a little over processed perhaps...

just my $0.02....

Are you british? This music sounds pro...or expensive.

Fully pumped master.

What did you record this on?

Or what studio did you use?

I'll bet you are one of those 8track portastudio wizards right?

Sheesh your really taking a beating here Dalon-

I remember when you posted paper ships last time-I even re-bumped that thread months later because I think it's one of the best songs and recordings I've heard here. I've listened to that song many times-fantastic song and recording. If I remember correctly you recorded these through a mackie board?? With typical homerecording level microphones etc. Truly a remarkable job!!! And I'm not sure what all this mentioning other forums business is about but the original poster mentioned nothing-till it was brought up...Anyway if you posted around here more and helped some of us lesser recordists out you might get more responses. As it is I don't think you can get too much help around here. Great music-excellent recordings!!!

p.s. I think I hear a pop at 1:22-Man you could probably drop the volume of this sucker a tad and it would still rock, its pinning my winamp spectrum analyzer pretty heavily...(paper ships)

I'd like to hear how you record and mix(processing) your drums!

Kramer: What do you mean, This is not a promotional forum?

Strato, thanks for your comments! I don't hear that popping on 1:22, but I agree that it is all pretty loud. I wanted it to be as loud as most professional recordings, so I turned the limiting on the PSP vintagewarmer up quite a bit.

It was all recorded at home on a PC (Cubase), except the drums, which were recorded in the rehearsal room. This was my first mrecording project, and I really took my time.

Equipment used: Osan and Yahama drums, UFIP cymbals, Fender stratocasters, Fender P-bass, Fender Champ, Roland Jazzchorus, Yamaha amp, RAT, Tubescreamer and Boss distorion, Vox V847 wah, Boss CS2 compressor, E-mu vintage keys, Hohner Melodica, Mackie CR1604, JoeMeek VC6Q pre-amp, Yorkville YSM1p monitors, Athlon XP1700 PC, Hoontech DSP24 soundcard, Cubase VST32, Waves and PSP plugins, Orange Vocoder, Absynth, StudioProjects C1, MXL 603, Shure SM57, AKG D112 and Sennheiser 604 mics.

Hé Daan, dit klinkt hartstikke goed man! Leuke bezetting ook! En fluitjes, hoezee! :D (positief bedoeld hoor!)

Stratomaster already 'warned' me for you and I can tell ya: I'm not disappointed! Pleasantly quirky songs and rich arrangements, played by great musicians. On top of that it sounds good. And for a first time recording experience it sounds REALLY good. Even better than stuff recorded in so-called 'professional' studios I've heard (charging lots of money for pure crap, I mean how can you call yourself a professional if you don't even know how a compressor works? Jeez, you've understood it much better than the average studio technician!)

Only one thing bothers me a little in your music: I would love to hear a vocal melody that is as interesting as the rest of the music. It doesn't seem very important, I'm guessing it always comes last when you're composing. :D And I know, this is a matter of taste but I wanted to tell you anyway... :)

And I agree with Kramer that we're here to help each other, not to sell albums....in other words: review the other's music too, do something in return. And it doesn't make sense to post final products, because you won't do anything with the responses you get anyway. :)

You're right, It would be better to review some other music too... I'll try to do that, but I have a slow modem...

Well, ANd the fact that I was just proud of the result af a year's work! I just wanted to share this love and happiness and....

;)

I understand...you've got every reason to be proud and happy...but I understand Kramer's point also! :)

There is a pop at 1:22, put on your headphones and listen close-anyone else hear it but me?(paper ships)

Paper ships does not contain a pop, S! Perhaps it's your ears...

Cool song, though.

Makes me think, I should really dig up my Henry Cow & Univers Zero records...

the pop is at 0:22 not 1:22 at the end of the word "sleep". I think stratomaster made a typo, but I'm sure that's what he was talking about.

great stuff dalon!!!!! I'm very impressed. I like this kind of music and you guys do a great job.

but download some other people's tunes. there's good stuff here. worth the wait if you have a slow modem.
