Anyone know where to get 500.00 dollars worth of retail ready cds?

I'm not sure how many 500 bucks will get me.

I'm looking for cheap but not so cheap that I get screwed over.

The Recording Project used these guys for their last compilation cd. They do replicated (pressed) cd's in runs as low as 300. However, their cheapest package looks to be about $600.

i wish i had some links i could share . . . i have found a few spots online with what looks like good deals . . . but i have yet to use any of them . . . but do a search online for cd duplication and peep out some of the top links . . .

I have :)

Now I'm looking for folks that have actually used these services to give me a little input.

This will be the the first time I didn't DIY it and let someone else handle it.

You see I told the artist if he where to put up half the money for duplication I would match it. He said he could put up 250.00 so i'm looking for a 500.00 dollar deal. :D

I remember I spent like 3 times that when I had my 2000 CD pressed. I think this time, I'm just going to stack up about $1500 and invest in a 100 CD duplicator and just pay to have the artwork and pressing printed (and the UPC of course)

I see a lot of deals online, but I dealt with Crystal Clear in Dallas. Do you know about how many CDs you're needing to be pressed willz?

Well somehow I figured I was going to be able to get more than 300 less than 500 :D

I think I was wrong.

I might just fit the bill for the cds to get about 3 to 5 hundred done and hope I make my money back in sales.

By the way Fieva...

I think I can build a duplicator cheaper than that.

1 to 7 Controller card 200.00
Computer bay 100.00
7 cd-r burners at 40 bucks each

about 580.00 saving me 920.00 :)

hell I still have money to buy a thermal printer....

True, but I want the one that you can drop 100 in set it to copy and then walk away. I'd hate to mess with trying to eject that all the time. I'm hoping I can pick up the duplicator and the MPC with the same check yo.

If you are going to sell it in stores, you should really go with pressed CD's instead of CD-R's.

I actually thought of doing both. Pressed CD's for store releases, CD-R for street sales. But I figured I'd start out with local street sales and see how it did.

Edit: While I would be selling street CD's, I would also be stacking up money for pressed CD's as well.
