Is there a program that can normalize all the tracks and then burn the CD? My friend was trying to burn a CD and it doesn't take wavs. He has to covert them to MP3s, then burn them. He said he wants to program that lets you normalize, but he can't remember the name of it.

Latest Nero can do that.
Nevertheless it will not be 100% accurate because normalization will be based on the peaks, and that has little to do with the overall sound level of the song.

nero wave editor can normalise too, well at least i think it can (note, normalise, not compress...!)

normalizing...

there's another post on this subject going on now.

some say its useless, but I did it last night for the first time and it was great. Nero, Wav editor.
I had to take my CDR- download it to my computer as a wave file (which was a first too)...then NEro Wave Editor could do its thing, then I burnt a CD...fast and fun.

i'm going to investigate some more to verify it doesn't degrade the sound noticeably.
I'll test with some Store-bought-pro-Cd's.

but what I heard this first time was alright by me, it leveled the volume on two songs I had with different volumes.
it also up'd the volume, so my 25 volume setting was where it used to be 30.

coolest thing was both songs were identical volume and sounded fine in my car stereo (my main listening enviroment).

it appears the better your equipment the more you notice the degradation on everything fhkn thing...seems even your guitar cables can totally destroy your mix (sarcasm).

YAMP 2.3 has that too i think

thats a download somewhere around in google...thats an mp3 ripper, encoder, decoder and wave editor too. and yes i think nero has a normalizer also

yes, NERO 5/ Wav Editor has:
Normalizing (you have to normalize each wav file seperately)

EQ
Transpose
Dynamic Processor (compressor/limitor)
2:1 -20/ 4:1 -20/ Limiter -20

Time correction
Delay
Flanger
Chorus
Reverb

Hi Freq rebirth
DC Offset correction
Noise reduction
Noise Analysis

I have no idea yet, of the quality...user friendly tho.
not to jump in on this post but anyone know what the DC offset correction is?
