Cd Burner

Can you tell me the difference between a CD Burner and a CD-R or a CD-RW?
As far as I've read here it's important to have a CD Burner when recording into the PC. I have the HP cd-writer 9100 series, is that enough???

I would guess your HP unit is considered a CD burner....CD-R is just a regular CD-Rom drive and CD-WR is a drive that can read and write CD's....CD-R and CD-WR can also refer to the CD's themselves, CD-WR can be written and re-written and CD-R can only be written once....
