I have old cassette tapes made at my church & sweet adelines I'd like to burn to a cd before they are all destroyed. Where can I get that equipment?

The approach I use is the following:

1. Play tape in a good boombox or stereo
2. Connect headphones output to a PC sound card input
3. Record tape play as a WAV file in the PC
4. Burn resulting files to CD using CD software and Cd burner

Just about any online firm or computer store will have cables, CD burners, software, etc.

Remember though- some cd-r's are proving to have an even shorter shelf life than tapes, so by going the computer route, you can keep a digital copy on your hard drive(s) and of course make cds for listening / selling / archiving.

Yo Lady Linda:

I respond only because I've been captured by a couple of Linda folks.

Here is what I would do with your tapes.

I would put them into my 2816 and then remaster them into a stereo track to burn into CD.

Now, I know that I don't have control of the "all" tracks; however, from my past experience, I've done some nice stuff this way.

But, whatever way, enjoy.

Green Hornet:D :p   :p :p

Thanks for your responses. I found at Best Buy a CD burner which connects with an opticle cable directly to my cassette player...Does a great job!
