If you have an Office Max nearby. They are discontinuing their 24X burners so they put them on sale today. After instant rebate and mail in rebate the price is $9.99. The brands in our store are Polaroid, I/O Magic and HiVal. I just picked up an I/O Magic 24X10X40 for a computer I'm building for my wife. You can't buy a CD player for that. Oh yeah, you also get a coupon to send in for a free portable CD player. Make sure you get the instore rebate booklet for the coupons.

Also Memorex 32X CD-R 100 pack is $9.99 after rebate.

No I don't work for Office Max :D

Thats because a lot of gaming hardware will be out of date this fall. . . expecially videocards. If you have a Voodoo or Rage better start saving and just forget onboard video the games coming out will just kill them.

I'm willing to bet that a bunch of games will show up on DVD's instead of CD's in the next year or so

What do video cards have to do with cd burners dude? :) But since you brought it up, I'd like to note that the Geforce3 Ti 200 is at $80 shipped on pricewatch! This card beats the Geforce4 MX cards a lot of the time. The Gefroce4 Ti's start in at $130, which is really a pretty fair price too!

You are correct in that a lot of software is starting to come on DVD. However, CDROM distributions are always available as well, and will be for a long time.

24x for $10 is a great deal. I was pretty happy last week when I bought a 32X burner with Burn Proof for $29 (after rebate of course)

yeah Office Max has some great deals...I picked up a 17inch flat screen monitor there for $50 after mail in rebate. If you like deals like this visit www.fatwallet.com

I love the feeling after you know you just paid an awesome price for something!
