I know You all must have answered this question many times.
Jut once more please.
My Husband just got me a new Pc, I love my music.. and i am trying to copy my audio cassttes to my Hard drive.
I use Music Match juke box as my editor..
But I'm having Lots of problems.
I can record thru Mic In.. But there is no way to know where each song stops and the next begins. Making it on really long wave.
I tried the line in -- But that doesn't work at all
Any help would be apprciated greatly

Yes, this question has been asked a million times before..., but one more time won't hurt anybody. :)

First of all, DO NOT RECORD THROUGH THE MIC IN.

Use the LINE IN.

The reason why you can not getting anything in through the Line In is because you probably have it MUTED.

To remedy this, do this:

START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>MULTIMEDIA>VOLUME CONTROL>( make sure the LINE IN is not checked) then continue>OPTIONS>PROPERTIES>RECORDINGS (make sure the Line In IS checked)>OK> (raise the level of LINE IN up a bit).

Or instead of doing all of that you can just DOUBLE-CLICK the speaker icon on your taskbar. :D

Do this, also....

START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>MULTIMEDIA>AUDIO tab (check to make sure your sound card is in the PREFERRED DEVICE box.

Plus you also need to use an EDITOR PROGRAM, I will post you a link to a shareware site.

Here it is...

I hope this helps you a bit. :)

You wiil be able to save each song seperately, once you obtain an editing program.

Record song>truncate the beginning and end of song>save as a WAV. file.
