I am thinking of getting a used bass guitar and I have found a carvin trb 5 string bass for 700$. It says in the ad that it is 9 years old. would this be a good purchase?

and does it it have that deep low end that I need to play reggae?

a band i used to run sound with and the like....

had a run of the mill Carvin P Bass it was awesome the tone was just amazing, the price he paid for it was very low.

Just about any Carvin Bass is great but I've never heard of a "TRB"

Here's a link to a bunch of instock guitars at Carvin. $700 might be a little much.

I had the chance to play a friend's Carvin LB70P thru a Roland Cube and it was sweet. Excellent tone and very playable. Probably apples to oranges but every Carvin I've played has been great. I own one of their 6 string guitars.

I've been thinkin about getting one of Carvin's bass kits with a few adds that I like. Complete kits (according to their write up).
Just tossin out another option that I've been looking into.
