Disclaimer: I'm not sure what forum would be best to ask in, so this one seems good for now. :)

I'm using a MacBook Pro, 002 (control surface, not rack), external hard drive, and Presonus Digimax LT as a sweet mobile Pro Tools recording rig. I love everything about it... except lugging the damn thing around! I did some quick searches on Google, and it would appear there are at least a couple of cases around for the 002, but I didn't really see anything that looked very good.

I can't imagine I'll find anyone on here in exactly the same situation, but if anybody has more general advice I'd very much appreciate it :) I'd like to carry all of these in one or two padded cases, preferably with shoulder-straps for obvious reasons :P If not, any suggestion for a case for just the 002/laptop?

I have a Gator Studio2Go. Holds my laptop and has a 2U rack, in a bag with a shoulder strap.

Looks like a nice unit! Makes me wish I'd purchased the rackmount 002 instead a little bit. Then again, I love the interface... hmmm :/

yeah, I'm not sure how to help you there with the control surface. That thing isn't really made to be that portable. :o

Will the 002 fit in a rolling flight bag? Or maybe an old style piece of luggage? Seriously, I'd go to your local department store and look around the luggage area.

Even an 002R will seem bulky for portable use. For gigs where I need a portable interface I use a MOTU Traveler. Fits either in my two space soft rack, or right in the laptop case.

Maybe take a look and see if any of the bags that Mackie sells will be big enough for your 002. If you need an ATA style case, I keep my 01v's in the Road Ready ones. They are great cases for rack mountable mixers, but they won't help you in the weight and bulk department.
