I hate my voice so ofcoirse I am overly critical. Does this suck as bad as I think it does?

Ok Ok....I uploaded what I consider the final version. I actually kinda like how the vocals turned out here.

I don't know about "pro" but I appreciate the compliment. I checked out your website. You have some pretty clean sounding stuff. Sounds more pro than anything I've done.
I'm not really a singer. I just do it as a means to an end. I don't think many people like the sound of their own voices though. Thanks for the vote of confidence anyhow.

I think this song sounds great. This is the kind of guitar playing that got me into music in the first place. Contrary to what you think, I think the vocal sounds great, it reminds me of early Hetfield which is a good thing imo and who the hell likes their own voice anyways? Well mixed and very well played, nice job.

Hey James, this was a pretty cool listen. I like the heavy rhythms - the guitar tones are great (a little tone chain details please..), the mix of different drums beats, the harmonized leads, but no 'cookie monster' vocals 
. My kinda metal. I'm a little confused by that bridge part before the lead...kinda 'out there'...I might have to hear that again

. I would go with it; that's your sound. There was however a small range of higher notes that you tended to stay on for most of the song. Your voice sounded good in that high range, it's just that it tended to be a tad repetitive- maybe could try to mix it up some. I don't follow my own advice most of the time - it's a struggle and I suck. Mix-wise, I kinda wanted the drums to hit me harder at times, but that may not be possible without upsetting the balance. And maybe the vocals could come up a hair in some spots.

I love that guitar sound from Hell and the mix is great. But that's mostly due to your great performance.

Not the kind of tune I have any experience trying to play or mix, but to my untrained ear it sounds fine. I thought your voice sounded good and is well suited to this sort of piece. Great energy. Well done.

It's an Ibanez S520ex tuned Bb standard going into an RP250. The RP250 is being used as a distortion pedal/DI box (The distortion emulated of course being the venerable TS808) going into my soundcard. Im using a nice freeware program called "Live Professor" as a VST effects rack. The rack starts with Blue Gate VST (simple but effective and free) to control noise, Poulin Le456 Plugin which emulates an ENGL Powerball going into Poulin LeCab 2 which is a free cab emulator that uses convolution. The impulses are 1 ENGL 4x12 Cab with V30's and 1 Mesa Boogie with basically the same setup. That is going into Voxengo Recorder so I can grab samples from it. I also sometimes put the recorder further up in the chain to capture my direct signal in case I want to reamp later. That's basically it. I didn't really use much EQ other than what is built into Le456. The LePou Plugins are extremely nice and I still can't believe they are being offered for free. I would pay for them. Check them out.
